whatisbullying.jpg

Bullying is when someone has power over someone else.

As you can see below, bullying comes in different forms, people get bullied by

Being called names

Being teased

Being physically attacked, this means being punched, pulled, pinched or kicked

Because of their sexual preference

Colour of skin

Religion

Disability

I think in an ideal world everybody should be treated equally, that’s easy to say but why should we be judged just because we are different to someone else?

People bully for various different reasons it could be because they could have been through a very hard time in their life’s, and the only way that they could release their anger is by picking on someone else. Some people just want to be popular and they will do anything to be popular even though they bully they bully because they want to make themselves look hard, which is not good, it’s not cool to bully, to make someone else is life hell because they want to join some sort of gang .

I’m not an expert on bullying but I do know that it’s not a very nice experience to be bullied. This is from my personal experiences and this is how I dealt with being bullied.

If you need to talk about your problem find someone you can trust to talk to and try and work the best way to deal with your problem, Childline are very good at being a friendly ear to listen to your problems and I would highly recommend that you call them, after all they are not their to judge you, they can give you confidential advice 24 hours a day you can call their helpline free from home or even a public telephone box the number is 0800 1111.What can you do if you are being bullied?

Focus on something that you want to do in the future this will give you something to aim towards some kind of goal to reach, this is what I did I was aiming to finish school when I was 16 even though I had a bad time, I always think it’s important to look ahead. Because It’s going to keep your mind active even though you have so much pain and that your going through so much think of where you want to be in 5 years time, that will give you confidence to try and reach your goal.

I know that it not easy to talk about your problems and to admit to being bullied, but schools have now adopted the peer support scheme most schools have now got this in place, when I was In school we did not have this around, I do however think that this is a very good idea and from the e-mails I have received it seems you are using this which is really good, They have been trained by professionals and they are again not their to judge you.

You should never answer the bullies back I don’t think that this is the right way to go about it, as you are just going to make matters worse for yourself and by digging a hole for yourself your just going to make the problem worse.

Don’t let the bullies see that your scared as you will only get picked on worse, I know from experience that you should just try and put a front that there comments does not bother them, juts try to ignore however hard it is at the end of the day you have done nothing wrong, you should be proud of yourself for walking away.
